We recognise the value of stakeholder engagement in the cultivation of a safe and inclusive environment that promotes positive behaviour. The whole school community, including staff, pupils,听parents听and governors/trustees need be on board and supportive of the school/trust鈥檚 ambition.听

There will be occasions where听sanctions, including听suspensions听and exclusions,听are necessary measures that need to be taken to听protect the learning and safety of others.听The behaviour policy should be applied fairly and proportionally, without losing sight of the importance of tackling the underlying causes of poor behaviour. Suspensions and exclusions听in particular should听be a last resort given their implications for a child鈥檚 learning, but they will be听an appropriate response听in exceptional circumstances.听听

Governing board reviews of permanent exclusions provide a vital and necessary opportunity to quickly review a potentially life-changing decision. It is听absolutely right听that pupils,听parents听and staff all听have the opportunity to听have their representations considered, and that a decision is reached promptly so the child has certainty about their future.听This function of governing boards reflects their position as the first line of accountability, and 精品SM在线影片 are clear that it should be maintained.
